Barry Blaisdell has spent nearly four decades gaining hands-on experience across performance, operations, actor management, scenic construction, effects, maintenance, marketing, guest flow, and problem solving.
That breadth of experience now shapes the consulting work behind Twisted Nightmares.
A HISTORY BUILT ON REAL PROBLEMS SOLVED
Nearly Four Decades Inside One Attraction.
Barry Blaisdell became involved with Beaumont's Haunted Hotel in 1986 and eventually served as General Manager, gaining hands-on experience across nearly every part of running a haunted attraction.
Over the years, that meant far more than developing scares. The work included performance, actor management, scenic construction, effects, maintenance, marketing, guest flow, day-to-day operations, attraction development, and the constant problem solving required to keep a live entertainment business moving forward.
The Haunted Hotel also changed dramatically over those years. The attraction experienced relocation, severe weather, operational challenges, an electrical fire, rebuilding, a return to downtown Beaumont, and later expansion. Each chapter required adaptation, practical decision making, and an understanding of how creative ideas have to function in the real world.
Fire damage at the Haunted Hotel following the 2014 electrical fire. The loss forced another major transition for the attraction.Damage to the ceiling and structural areas shows the scale of the rebuilding challenge.
Experiences like this shaped a practical approach to attraction work. Creative ideas matter, but so do construction, maintenance, operations, contingency planning, and the ability to adapt when circumstances change.
Experience is not just how long you have been doing something. It is what you have had to solve along the way.
That history matters because consulting is most valuable when it is grounded in experience with real guests, real performers, real construction, real operating constraints, and real problems that have to be solved before opening night.
Bring that experience to your attraction.
